Din Tai Fung a 1-star Michelin restaurant
For foodies, when we think of Michelin restaurants, we all think of prestige and top-notch food quality that you enjoy. None of that fast eating, no time to enjoy your meal bullshit.
I've finally had the chance to eat at this popular 1-star Michelin restaurant for xiao long bao. Din Tai Fung, famed and from Taiwan, can be found in the Southern California areas. The particular location I went to was Glendale, at The Americana at Brand. I have been hearing a lot about this restaurant for a few years since they first opened their first location in the US, in Arcadia. I heard about the long lines to get a table. I've decided to wait.
What did I think? This is only about the Glendale location. I would say the food was decent. Not the best pork xiao long bao I've had. Not the best potstickers I had either. The unknown Taiwanese eateries are better. Maybe this place is just overrated just like many food trends. Or perhaps I chose the wrong location and maybe the one in Arcadia would be better. Should I go again but a different location? Tell me via social media.
